Mountain View SPAB bus rental

Mountain View teachers rarely struggle to get a SPAB bus onto campus. Getting it home on time is the harder part, since US-101 and the North Bayshore office crowd slow down together as the school day ends. Choose your trip date, then look hard at the hour you must be back. That return deadline should drive your schedule, your venue booking and the request you send us.

Booking a school trip from Mountain View

Buses reach Mountain View from Hayward by I-880 and CA-237, about 30 minutes without delays, so the morning approach crosses the south end of the bay. Shoreline Boulevard is the local choke point. Office commuters fill it on weekdays, and Amphitheatre concert crowds can jam it on evenings. If you are visiting Shoreline Lake, check for events first. Trips into Los Altos Hills get a route review and a bus size decision before we confirm.

What to get from a SPAB carrier

Under California Vehicle Code 546, a school pupil activity bus is a vehicle other than a schoolbus that a carrier runs under contract with a school, taking pupils in 12th grade or below to or from a public or private school activity.

Vehicle Code 12517 calls for a license endorsed for passenger transportation, and the driver's certificate comes from the DMV.

Ask us for any of these when you book. Our drivers are our own employees, and every bus has lap-and-shoulder belts.

Mountain View SPAB FAQ

Questions from Mountain View schools

What time should a Mountain View class leave a venue to beat traffic?

Tell us the destination and your return deadline. We will suggest a departure, and say so plainly if that deadline looks unrealistic on a weekday afternoon.

How far ahead should a Mountain View school request a bus?

As soon as the date looks firm, and sooner during spring field trip months. Waiting until the venue is booked can leave you with fewer bus choices.

Does a Shoreline event change a Mountain View school bus plan?

It may, mainly on late returns. Look up the amphitheatre calendar for your date and pass along anything scheduled, so the route and timing can be adjusted early.
